‘What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer, the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months, and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade.’
~Gertrude Jekyll
I’m enjoying June. The bright, shiny skies, the languid dusks, the busyness of the library. Yes, it’s hot, but it’s still the dry heat that feels like cuddling in a warm blanket just out of the dryer.
I’ve been reading lots and it feels really natural to go from book to book with no need to take a breath – isn’t that what summer reading is?
How is your June?
I am pleased to hear you’re enjoying June and your reading so much. The weather here in the UK has been a bit mixed…doesn’t really feel like summer has arrived yet.

We had some weird weather too at the beginning of June, but now it is fully summer. I hope you get some nice summery days soon!

Yes, in the UK we could be doing with some of your dry heat which feels like cuddling a warm blanket. We’re still hugging duvets! I’m looking forward to hearing about some of those books you’ve been reading, when you can get around to it.

I can’t even think of duvets right now – too hot! I will post soon about my reading. Most of what I’m reading is coming out in August so I can’t really post about them yet.

My June is horribly hot and humid. I am having to force myself not to leave the air conditioning running at high volume at all times — THINK OF THE ENVIRONMENT, I keep telling myself. But it’s very very hot, and I am enormously grateful to be spending a high percentage of my weekdays at an aggressively air-conditioned office where the temperature conditions are outside of my control.

I really despise humidity! The dry heat is so much better. Thank heavens for air conditioning!

June is so much better than February when you live in Canada so I hate to complain but June has been ridiculously all over the place. So humid it’s like living in a terrarium one minute and then cold and rainy the next! There are plenty of ‘reading on the patio’ days ahead though…
