In just two weeks the second annual Mary Stewart Reading Week will kick-off here at Gudrun’s Tights. It seems so long ago that I decided to host this event again in honor of Lady Stewart’s memory so I can’t believe that the week is nearly upon us. I envision the event working much the same as last year, but I’ll let you all know if there are any changes.
I haven’t quite decided yet what I’ll read and post about during the week. I really would like to try The Ivy Tree and possibly This Rough Magic and maybe even Rose Cottage too. Do you have any idea what you’ll read that week?
Have a great Sunday!
If I get a vote, I’d say The Ivy Tree 🙂
I am definitely in! I’m planning to read The Last Enchantment, and maybe one of her suspense novels as well – I have quite a few to choose from still.
Thanks for hosting us again this year.

I’ve been looking forward to this! I haven’t quite decided what to read yet either – I still have a few of the suspense novels left to read but I’m curious about her Merlin books too, so maybe I’ll try The Crystal Cave.

One day I’ll read her Merlin books, but I want to finish reading all of her suspense novels first. Thanks for joining in!

I’d say The Ivy Tree too.
My plan is to read The Gabriel Hounds, and then one of the two Greek books I have still unread.

I think The Ivy Tree is the winner! I love her Greek books – I think I’ll try to read This Rough Magic too. Looking forward to your posts!

I’m thinking about Airs Above the Ground, or My Brother Michael…but I have to see what the library has in stock. Any particular suggestions?

Lory, I really like Madam, Will You Talk? and Nine Coaches Waiting – my two favorites. But any of hers will be good – thanks for participating!

I am leaning towards Thornyhold and WIldfire at Midnight, but Madame Will You Talk is also on the list. I can’t wait! 🙂

I’m glad you’re participating again, Erin! Thornyhold is the first of her novels that I read and I loved it.

Oh, not many people have read her children’s books – I’ll be interested to see what you think.

I was thinking of reading either Nine Coaches Waiting or Madam, Will You Talk? I see that you said they were both two of your favorites. Would you recommend one over the other?

Hmmm…good question! I think I would suggest Nine Coaches Waiting over Madam, Will You Talk? though they are both so good. You can’t go wrong with either of them. I’m glad you’re joining in!

I’m hoping to join in, though like last year I haven’t yet got a book. I liked it last year, finding a new author to love was great.

I have never read Mary Stewart. I remember you doing this last year and it is about time I got to know her books. Thanks for giving me a little nudge…

She’s a great romantic suspense author – not for everyone but I like the vintage, glamorous settings of her novels. She is my comfort reading.

I think I ordered Rose Cottage. That and the Margaret Kennedy book are being delivered to my mums house. Once I have it, I will begin reading so I can join in.
