This last week was a marvelous break from routine. My cousin, friend and I drove up to Pueblo, Colorado on Tuesday and my friend and I drove back down on Friday. I really love the drive to Colorado. You go through some of the most beautiful parts of Arizona, through Albuquerque and up to Santa Fe, north through the stunning landscape of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Pueblo is not the prettiest city in Colorado – it is a bit scrubby and flat, but there are some unique and gorgeous hidden treasures. My aunt and uncle live out in the country, about 25 minutes outside of town and it was so peaceful and quiet. The weather was also much better than in Phoenix. It was twenty degrees cooler with zero humidity – a nice break from the sticky heat.
Needless to say, I didn’t finish any books this week and barely read at all. So I will just leave you with some of the photos I took of the trip – most of them from the car as we were traveling.

I know I have been really lame about commenting on your blogs lately and I apologize. I’m going to try to get back into the swing of things this week. Our big summer programs are over and school starts in about two weeks so I won’t be quite so busy at work.
Have a great week!
With your hectic summer, you were due for some fun! And it was a bit spur-of-the-moment, right? which can be even more fun. The photos are gorgeous. I haven’t spent any time in Colorado outside of the Denver airport, sadly.

Yes, very spur-of-the-moment! It was very refreshing and reviving.

Gorgeous, and perfect weather for it (I agree about the heat, as much as it’s been great here it’s a bit cooler now and much easier to truly enjoy summer). Glad you had a good time 🙂
