“I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do. I feel as if this tree knows everything I ever think of when I sit here. When I come back to it, I never have to remind it of anything; I begin just where I left off.” – Willa Cather
That is such a wonderful quote. I shall think of it next time I sit under a tree.

Isn’t it lovely? It makes me realize that I don’t sit under trees nearly enough.

I remember when I still lived in Poland and saw some old trees – 300, 400 years old, and I always thought about all the things they saw. Some of them lived in 3 different countries without moving at all!
Btw. the oldest tree is Poland is this: http://www.czasatrakcji.pl/uploads/pictures/dc61ed0810961fc2462ff155ccd9b8347d4945ba.jpg It is estimated it was ‘born’ around the year 750. Just imagine that!!

Sometimes I do wish trees could talk – the things they could tell us! That is a very beautiful tree in Poland. I love those old growth forests of Europe – they must be majestic.
